Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection provides mobile DNA specimen collection services only. All DNA testing, analysis, and result reporting are performed by an independent, accredited laboratory.

Legal (court-admissible) testing follows strict chain-of-custody procedures, including identity verification and documentation, and can be used for court or legal matters.
Non-legal testing is for personal knowledge only and cannot be used in court.
Clients are responsible for selecting the appropriate test for their intended use.

All base prices include testing for up to three (3) participants, unless otherwise stated.
Additional participants may be added for an additional fee. -
DNA test results are issued directly by the testing laboratory, not by Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection. We do not interpret or alter laboratory results.

Legal tests follow strict chain-of-custody procedures required by courts. However, acceptance is determined by the requesting court or agency, and cannot be guaranteed.

Turnaround times vary depending on the test type and laboratory processing.
Standard results are typically available within 3–7 business days from the laboratory’s receipt of samples. Rush services are available for an additional laboratory-imposed fee. -
Rush testing fees are set by the testing laboratory and billed at the laboratory’s contracted rate. These fees apply to expedited laboratory processing and are separate from appointment scheduling or travel fees.

Certified copies are official court-admissible copies of DNA test reports issued by the testing laboratory. Fees for certified copies are set by the laboratory and billed at cost. Processing times may vary.

Travel fees are not included in base pricing for appointments outside Missoula, Ravalli Counties, and Lake Counties.

No. DNA samples related to criminal matters (such as homicide or sexual assault cases) are not accepted.

All DNA samples and test results are handled, processed, and stored by the accredited testing laboratory in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.
