1. Service Scope & Role Clarification

Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection LLC provides mobile DNA specimen collection and documentation services only.

We do not perform DNA testing, laboratory analysis, interpretation of results, or issue DNA test reports. All DNA testing, analysis, and result reporting are performed by an independent, accredited laboratory.

Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection LLC does not provide medical or legal advice.

2. Legal vs. Non-Legal Testing

• Legal (court-admissible) testing follows strict chain-of-custody procedures, including identity verification and documentation, as required by courts and the testing laboratory.

• Non-legal testing is for personal knowledge only and is not admissible in court.

Clients are responsible for selecting the appropriate test type for their intended use.

3. Pricing, Laboratory Fees & Additional Charges

• Base service prices include testing for up to three (3) participants, unless otherwise stated.

• Additional participants are subject to additional fees.

• Certain services, including rush laboratory processing and certified copies, are laboratory-imposed fees and are billed at the laboratory’s contracted rate.

• Prices are subject to change without notice.

4. Travel Fees

Mobile appointments outside Missoula, Ravalli, and Lake Counties may incur a travel fee, typically ranging from $50–$100, depending on distance and location. Travel fees will be disclosed prior to or at the time of booking whenever possible.

5. Certified Copies of Results

Certified copies of court-admissible DNA test reports are issued by the testing laboratory, not by Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection. Fees for certified copies are set by the laboratory and billed at cost. Processing times may vary.

6. Privacy & Data Handling

Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection collects only the personal information necessary to:

• Schedule appointments

• Verify identity (when required)

• Submit specimens to the testing laboratory

• Complete required documentation

We do not analyze, interpret, or store DNA test results. DNA samples and genetic data are handled, processed, and retained by the testing laboratory in accordance with applicable laws and laboratory policies.

Personal information is shared only with the contracted testing laboratory and only as required to complete requested services. We do not sell personal information.

7. Confidentiality & Records

Access to client information is limited to authorized personnel. Records are retained only as long as required for operational, legal, or laboratory purposes and are securely destroyed or archived thereafter.

8. Limitations of Liability

Big Sky Mobile DNA Collection’s responsibility is limited to proper specimen collection, identity verification (when applicable), documentation, and timely submission to the testing laboratory.

We are not responsible for:

• Laboratory processing delays

• Test outcomes or interpretations

• Court or agency acceptance of results

Acceptance of legal DNA test results is determined by the requesting court or agency.

9. Prohibited Testing

DNA samples related to criminal investigations (including homicide, sexual assault, or forensic expert review cases) are not accepted.

Certain cases, including immigration matters or New York State resident testing, may require special authorization. Fees may apply even if results cannot be issued.

10. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Clients are encouraged to notify us as soon as possible if an appointment must be rescheduled or canceled. Fees may apply for missed appointments or short-notice cancellations.

11. Governing Law

These terms and services are governed by the laws of the State of Montana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Montana.

By booking an appointment, submitting a contact form, or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Notices.
